Endometriosis
Endometriosis affects around 1 in 7 women in Australia by their late 40s — yet many go years without a diagnosis. It happens when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, often causing pelvic pain, heavy periods, bowel and bladder dysfunction and sometimes fertility challenges.
Women who experience pain associated with their periods that affects their day to day functioning, during sexual intercourse or pain associated with bowel or bladder dysfunction could consider an endometriosis assessment.
At ALIX Women’s Health, we understand how frustrating and exhausting living with endometriosis can be.
